As we expand, security is a top priority, and we're seeking a skilled Senior IT Security Specialist to join our team. They will be the sole individual in this area of the business and they will need to be comfortable with hands-on work as well as planning mid to long term company needs.
Your Mission:
You will be responsible for protecting our digital assets, ensuring the security of our systems, networks, and data. You'll play a crucial role in identifying potential vulnerabilities, implementing robust security measures, and responding to security incidents. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about safeguarding technology infrastructure.
Security Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies, protocols, and procedures.
Devices: Handle and oversee device and end-point security.
Risk Assessment: Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Incident Response: Lead the investigation and response to security incidents, working with stakeholders across the company to ensure issues are resolved while minimizing impact.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for data protection and privacy.
User Training: Educate employees on security best practices and conduct regular training sessions to promote awareness.
Reporting: Generate detailed reports on the security status of the organization, including incident reports and risk analysis.
Please note that this role is an individual contributor role.
Job requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT Security, within a tech start-up or scale up. We’re creating, developing, and iterating as we go so you need to have experience in that type of environment.
Experience implementing and managing device and end-point security systems and processes.
Proven experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating security threats within a fully cloud-based business environment (i.e. we’re a SaaS business, that leverages SaaS products to create and manage our internal assets).
Experience coordinating penetration testing and collaborating with Engineering on remediation.
Experience remotely supporting a distributed workforce.
Strong customer centric mindset.
Fluent in English (Writing/Speaking).
